AFRICA’S GAS ASPIRATIONS VERSUS THE GLOBAL CALL FOR ENERGY TRANSITION: ARE THEY ANTITHETICAL.

Critical Issues Facing Oil and Gas subsector:

  • Produce more energy at a lower cost with less emissions.
  • To demonstrate differential and durable cash flows.
  • Onboarding and retaining the best talent in the workforce.
  • Operational Excellence.
  • Reduction in environmental impact and meeting stringent standards.
  • Changes in Consumer Preferences and greater competition from alternative energy products pose another threat.

Grow in your technical expertise with update insight and technological trends in the oil and training space

FDC Skills® Oil and Gas program provides gives you an understanding of techniques for “classification” of raw/unprocessed feed gas and gas at the sales point. Differentiate and classify gas at source for quick value estimation and lifecycle economics evaluation.

Develop a sustainable gas commercialization strategy using the 5P-MUSED methodology; where gas sourcing and sales conditions cannot be fixed. Independently select gas handling, processing, and conditioning technology for sales pipeline system off-takers.

Identify the most suitable gas processing, handling, and conditioning technology based on gas condition, properties, and economics, regardless of the convention of application and manufacturer. Select and adjust technology and equipment configuration from gas source to gas sales point for optimum commercial benefit.

Gain an appreciation of engineering design tools for sizing, rating, debottlenecking, and optimization of gas processing and conditioning systems.

At the end of the training, participants should be able to:

  • Know the meaning of energy transitions in relation to energy utilization.
  • To point out Africa’s part and aspirations in a global energy transition phenomenon.
  • Recognize the different factors responsible for international transition from fossil fuels to renewables.
  • Understand the dichotomy of rich countries and others in the energy transition domain.
  • The implication of energy transition on the global economy and the primary means of achieving successful energy transition
  • The way forward for Africa and the implication of climate legislation.
